2016 Dell'Uccello Vineyard Chardonnay Image

We selected this vineyard in mountains south of Eugene because it has 30 year old vines that are planted at 800-900 feet elevation. This climate and the Draper clone Chardonnay make for late ripening fruit that maintains nice crisp acidity. This wine was fermented using native yeasts and aged in one new French oak Damy barrel and 3 neutral French oak barrels.

This wine has a strong back bone of acid and is best paired with white meats and vegetables. The nose is fresh and bright with aromas of fresh green grapes, pear and a touch of oak (from the one new barrel). On the palate this wine has solid acidity with full body and mouthfeel, and has notes of fresh cut celery, pear, and a nice minerality and salinity. The finish is clean with medium plus acids.
