Bjornson Vineyard, planted in 2006, in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA is becoming one of our favorite partners. The soil on the site is primarily volcanic remnants, locally known as Nekia soil, with marine sedimentary overlay against basalt bedrock. This wine is made from the Pommard and Dijon 777 clones. The grapes were fermented using native yeasts and aged for ten months in French oak barrels (two neutral and one new).
This vintage of Pinot Noir is fragrant with strawberry and Rainier cherry on the nose and palate. It has a medium plus acids and subtle tannins in a complex finish.
