The grapes for this wine come from the Dell'Uccello Vineyard in the mountains west of Eugene. The 30-year old Draper clone Chardonnay vines are planted at 800-900 feet elevation. This climate makes for late ripening fruit that maintains a nice, crisp acidity. This wine was fermented using native yeasts and aged with its lees in neutral French oak and steel barrels.
We love this wine! On the nose, there are aromas of pear and yellow apple. On the palate, this wine has solid acidity with full body and roundness, and has notes of yellow apple and unsweetened marzipan. The finish is long and smooth, with elements of almond oil.
